Kemptville, ON, July 8, 2008 - There are now enough physicians to ensure that no patient should be without a doctor in our community, according to Dr. Lawrence Schnurr, Chief of Staff at Kemptville District Hospital. It's a claim few communities in Ontario can make, said Schnurr who presented at Kemptville District Hospital's Annual General Meeting June 26. “We are in the process of developing a whole new medical culture for this community and our hospital, Schnurr said in his report to the Board. "We have recruited to full capacity at the KDH Health Centre, [meaning] a full roster of physicians for KDH. These physicians are young . . .knowledgeable [and] ready to work hard." Schnurr, while optimistic, challenged the Board to take full advantage of this team. Maintaining and developing hospital services is one way to engage physicians, and ensure their continued presence.
