Musicians to donate time and talents to KDH in memory of friend
For the love of Pete! The memory of Kemptville area musician Pete Marzel and his father Hans is the driving force behind a special benefit concert to be held Saturday, August 19 at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.
Pete’s mother Carol and a group of friends have organized the memorial benefit show, with all proceeds dedicated to the current operating room equipment campaign at Kemptville District Hospital. A wide variety of musical talent will be offered from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. on the ice surface at the municipal centre, for only $5 per person or $15 per family.
Hard rock band Black Ju-Ju will be headlining and closing the show. The band’s official website has a special page dedicated to “our good friend and drummer Pete Marzel. His love of life and music were an inspiration to us all.”
The alcohol-free, family-oriented event will also feature a variety of other music from acoustic to country, with some possible surprise guests still to be confirmed at press time.
