Dr. Loan Luong to join Kemptville medical community
In real estate location is everything. For Dr. Loan Luong, who will be joining North Grenville’s medical community later this year, location was a major factor in her decision to open a practice at the KDH Health Centre.
“It’s right next to the (Kemptville District) hospital,” said Dr. Luong. “It’s just a great facility.”
Welcoming the new physician to town Hospital CEO Colin Goodfellow stated; “Dr. Luong is the kind of physician that suits Kemptville. She is committed to people’s well being and to building healthier communities.” Mr. Goodfellow added, “She will easily fit right into the excellent family health group that has served us all so well.”
Currently living in Ottawa, Dr. Luong graduated from the University of Toronto and is completing residency at the University of Ottawa. She is looking forward to coming to Kemptville to practice family medicine.
“If you look at family medicine, it’s community based,” she said. “You’re a resource to a given community.” The variety of cases and the ability to really get to know individual patients also attracted Dr. Luong to family medicine. “It’s patient-centred and there is continuity of care.”
Dr. Luong gave credit to KDH Health Centre-based physicians Dr. Tara McCallan and Dr. David Jones for helping attract her to Kemptville, which she said is “quite beautiful.”
