Media Release - October 20, 2008
Kemptville, ON, October 20, 2008 Promoting health and wellness is at the heart of our services at KDH. An important step in moving towards more health services for our community is partnering with other healthcare providers. In this way, we can provide additional services closer to our community.
KDH is pleased to announce its partnership with the Parkinson Society Ottawa. This Fall, KDH Physiotherapy Department will be leading a weekly group physiotherapy program for people with Parkinson's. The Parkinson Physiotherapy program is provided by Alison Crawford, our physiotherapist and will include individual assessments of clients and appropriately designed intervention during weekly classes. "I am excited to be able to partner with the Parkinson Society Ottawa to provide more services for people with Parkinsons – physiotherapy and exercise are important in order to maintain quality lifestyles and prevent injuries." says Crawford. She further notes that "By offering weekly classes at KDH, individuals and their families are not inconvenienced with traveling to Ottawa. This is a win for everyone".
The weekly sessions are scheduled for Thursdays from 1 to 2 pm and will be held at the KDH Physiotherapy department. To register please drop by Patient Registration at the West Side (ER) entrance of Kemptville District Hospital.
