Eastern Ontario Nursing leader joins Kemptville Hospital to be part of wave of change
Colin Goodfellow, Chief Executive Officer of Kemptville District Hospital, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Director of Patient Care/Chief Nursing Officer.
Cornwall native Kim Peterson, formerly Vice-President of Nursing at Cornwall General Hospital, brings more than 20 years of nursing experience to her new position. She is president of the Seaway Chapter of the Registered Nurses of Ontario.
"Kim brings a wealth of experience to Kemptville District Hospital," said Mr. Goodfellow. "She will be a real asset to our organization as we move forward with plans to expand our hospital and introduce new services to better serve our community."
"This is a hospital that's growing and moving forward. There is a bit of a buzz in the hospital sector that Kemptville is the place to be." said Ms. Peterson, who begins her new duties Oct. 17. "I'm really excited about the challenges of serving a growing community.
Working in at the Kemptville hospital has many advantages, noted Ms. Peterson. "There's a lot more variety to your role," she said, "and I enjoy that. Plus the hospital has an outstanding reputation for excellence in caring"
Ms. Peterson is an RN with a B.Sc. in Nursing from Ottawa University and a Masters degree in workplace learning and development from the University of Calgary. Her background is in medical/surgical nursing and she has a strong interest in palliative care.
