If you have been told you have emphysema, chronic bronchitis or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), our Opening Airways program can help.
COPD is a disease that makes it hard to move air in or out of your lungs. If you are living with COPD you may have questions about your pills and inhalers, fears about your future or problems coping with your symptoms. You are not alone. Our COPD program offers information and support.
This program will help you learn to manage your disease and live with COPD by –
- helping you recognize the early signs of a flare-up;
- providing you with the knowledge to help relieve those symptoms; and
- increasing your ability to exercise and budget your energy.
The Opening Airways program is a series of six weekly sessions, each one hour long. You will get a chance to have your questions answered and you’ll be able to talk to other people with COPD and learn how they are coping.
To register for the next Opening Airways session at KDH, please contact Terri Lynn Poirier at 613.258.6133 extension 213, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The program is also available by telemedicine
