Patient Safety and Infection Control
The patient care team at Kemptville District Hospital is committed to your safety. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of care and continually work to ensure that our patients and their families are in a safe environment.
We encourage you to read about some of our programs and initiatives:
1. Safety & Risk Management Framework
2. Patient Safety Reporting
3. Patient Safety Measures
4. Hand Hygiene
Hand hygiene plays an important role when it comes to reducing the spread of infections, whether in the community or in the Hospital. The Ontario Hospitals Association has developed the Clean Hands Save Lives campaign, which health care providers at KDH adhere to.
5. Accessibility KDH has adopted a hospital-wide policy to ensure equitable access to service for people with disabilities by applying the Ontario Accessibility Standards for Customer Care. We are committed to eliminating barriers and improving accessibility for persons with disabilities in a manner that respects dignity, independence and integration. Please click here to read the Policy. If you would like to comment on our policy, please email us, call us at 613-258-6133 x 287 or write to us, care of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Sub-Committee., KDH, P.O. Box 2007, 2675 Concession Road, Kemptville, ON K0G 1J0.
6. We encourage you to become an informed patient and active participant during your stay at KDH. A new website, created by the Ontario Hospitals Association (OHA), www.myhospitalcare.ca makes public information about hospitals easily accessible to the public. Myhospitalcare.ca is not meant as a tool to facilitate or encourage "comparison shopping" by patients, but rather as a means to educate patients on the information that is available to them and how they can use it to become active participants in their own health care.
