Long term care is something you may need if you can no longer perform everyday tasks by yourself. For example, there may come a time when you need help getting dressed, eating or bathing. It also includes the kind of care you would need if you had a disease like Alzheimer’s disease. The long term care setting is appropriate for you if your care needs exceed those available through community services. Kemptville District Hospital operates Interim Long Term Care Beds for people waiting to enter a permanent home. Referrals to the service are initiated through the Community Care Access Centre.

In order to be eligible for the Interim Long Term Care beds, you must be in hospital waiting for a Long Term Care placement. Besides helping you meet your daily care needs, we also provide meals in a dining room atmosphere and numerous activities.
