A relatively new Kemptville resident, Elizabeth MacPherson was Chairperson of the Canada Industrial Relations Board from January 2008 to December 2014. Prior to that appointment, she was the Director General of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. Elizabeth holds a B.A. in Industrial Relations from McGill University and an LL.B. and LL.M. from the University of Ottawa. She has been a practising labour mediator since 1978 and now runs her own business, Athena Dispute Resolution Services. In 2012, Elizabeth was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her contribution to labour relations in Canada.
