Kemptville District Hospital (KDH) is inviting people in the communities it serves to be part of the development of its new strategic plan, which will guide the Hospital’s path forward for the next number of years.

There are several ways for the public to have a voice about what KDH could and should be to the people it serves:

1 –  Attend a Virtual Strategic Planning Workshop on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 2:15 to 5:00 pm. The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Zayna Khayat, a Future Strategist with SE Health. Registration is through Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/kemptville-district-hospital-virtual-strategic-planning-workshop-tickets-147660541655

2 –  Complete an online survey: https://survey.alchemer-ca.com/s3/50102904/e2cfa68a7361

3 –  Members of the public may also receive a call to participate in a telephone survey.

The  KDH Board of Directors, which is responsible for setting the hospital’s strategic directions, designed its strategic planning process with a robust stakeholder engagement component to provide the public, organizational partners, community groups, and KDH staff, physicians and volunteers with a variety of opportunities to contribute their input.

“Preparing a strategic plan is one of a Board’s most important tasks during its mandate. However, it can’t do this in isolation. That is why the ideas and input from the community and various groups will enrich our thinking as we prepare the next chapter for Kemptville District Hospital,” stated Paul-Émile Cloutier, Chair of the KDH Board Strategic Planning Ad Hoc Committee.

“With your help, the Board of Directors is seeking to explore the best ways to transform our organization and deliver the best patient care and experience for years to come. I encourage you to be part of the process,” added Cloutier.

All of the input gathered through stakeholder engagement will be compiled, analyzed, and used to help develop the next strategic plan, which will set out KDH’s new strategic priorities and identify the actions that will be taken to advance them.

KDH’s Chief Executive Officer, Frank Vassallo, emphasized the benefits of strategic planning with a high degree of stakeholder engagement. “It’s extremely important that our hospital has focus as an organization and we need to create one forward-focused vision,” he said. “Not only does strategy touch everyone who works at KDH, it also impacts the communities that we are privileged to serve.”

“One benefit of strategic planning is that it creates a vision that can align our hospital and the residents it serves,” Vassallo added. “That is why it is vital that we engage our communities in seeking their input in this effort as we ensure that KDH plays a major role in our communities’ healthy future.”
