PUBLIC NOTICE: KDH mammography machine currently not operating

July 3, 2025 – Please be advised that the mammography machine at KDH is experiencing technical issues. The service provider has been investigating and trialing different solutions, but has been unable to repair the machine.

Sourcing the necessary parts has proven to be challenging due to the age of the equipment. The mammography machine’s computer needs to be replaced to complete the diagnostics and attempt repair.

As a result, KDH is currently unable to offer mammography service for at least several more weeks (if the issue is repairable).

KDH understands the importance of mammography service and is actively investigating options, including reaching out to providers and hospitals in our region. KDH has been cancelling mammography appointments and directing clients to visit Ontariohealth.ca for breast screening wait times.

Neighbouring hospitals have some screening capacity, but KDH recognizes the impact of not having this service available. KDH will provide an update when more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
