Qualifications

  • Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent from an accredited learning institution
  • Medical clerical experience required
  • Patient Registration experience (preferred)

KDH is seeking a Clinical Scholar to join the team on a Temporary Part-Time basis (tentative end date of March 31, 2024 – possible extension depending on Ministry funding).

The Clinical Scholar will provide formalized mentorship to newly graduated nurses to support their transition into the workforce, Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) and nurses seeking to upskill to aid transition into the nursing workforce.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Minimum five years of clinical experience;

Funded by the Ministry of Health’s Enhanced Extern Program, the Clinical Extern is employed as an unregulated care provider, working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, to enhance and effectively support safety and quality of care for patients of KDH. This program is open to clinical learners including students of nursing, respiratory therapy, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy programs. This provides the clinical learner with an opportunity to apply their knowledge, develop important skills for a career in health care, gain patient care experience, and to work with and learn from our incredible nursing and allied health team.
