The best piece of advice I ever received was from a previous KDH nurse: "Don't be afraid to speak up!"
Iām a full-time emergency room nurse. I triage and assess patients that come to the emergency room. I also provide treatment and teaching to patients and their families.
Patient interaction, camaraderie with fellow nurses/medical staff and the impact we have on patients and their families gives me the most job satisfaction.
I chose KDH in May 1989 because I wasn’t interested in working in the city. I find working at KDH we all know each other and we are like family. We all help each other during good and bad times.
I believe being a good communicator, maintaining a sense of humor, and being a caring person are very important in my job.
