She became a member of the Corporate Services Committee of the KDH Board of Directors in 2015 and an ex-officio Board Member in 2020, when she was appointed President of KDH Medical Staff. Dr. Luong acquired her Fellowship designation from the College of Family Physicians in 2021.

The best piece of advice I ever received was from a previous KDH nurse: "Don't be afraid to speak up!"
I’m a full-time emergency room nurse. I triage and assess patients that come to the emergency room. I also provide treatment and teaching to patients and their families.
Patient interaction, camaraderie with fellow nurses/medical staff and the impact we have on patients and their families gives me the most job satisfaction.
I chose KDH in May 1989 because I wasn’t interested in working in the city. I find working at KDH we all know each other and we are like family. We all help each other during good and bad times.
I believe being a good communicator, maintaining a sense of humor, and being a caring person are very important in my job.
