Ms. Brenda Steacy

President, KDH Auxiliary

Brenda Steacy joined the KDH Board of Directors as an ex-officio member in June, 2018 as the newly elected President of the KDH Auxiliary.

At that time, she had been volunteering at KDH for seven years, initially as a greeter, in the Day Surgery unit, and in the Pre-anesthesia clinic. These posts were followed by five years volunteering at the Coffee Bar section of the KDH Auxiliary’s Coffee Bar/Gift Shop, four of these years as Coffee Bar Manager. Ms. Steacy also spent three years serving as Secretary at meetings of the Auxiliary Executive. Now retired from the workforce, she had a successful career as a  Psychometrist and Learning Support Teacher with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board from 1979 to 2009. Ms. Steacy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from St Patrick’s College, Carleton University (1973), and a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education from Queen’s University (1974).
